Black, black tiny berries with mature seeds. The aromatics are super-dee-dooperdy Petite-like; tons of new car and fresh rubber tinged with baked blackberry pie. The wine is utterly black and its fruit character is of the ripe mixed fruit type (almost hard to put your finger on just which fruit--maybe some exotic tropical fruit never before tasted)--it's all held together with nice tannins that yield on the finish giving it good length.

This monolith of a Zin, our fourth from Bastoni is heavy-duty on the tarred raisin fruit, but the alcohol is well-cloaked and integrated with a plush-ness from its 13 months in French and American oak.
